IJsselmeer-Markermeer (Monnickendam)
Setting sails and of we go! But where to ? From Monnickendam
we could sail to Historical Hoorn to spend a night there,
the picturesque Edam, touristic Volendam or a former fishermen’s
island Marken. We could also spend a night in Amsterdam. In
that case we would choose for mooring up close to the city
centre, but in the quite parts of it.
The Dutch Wadden
(Den Oever)
Let us take you on a trip through Dutch Wadden, with its
wonderful nature. Seals, birds, sandbanks, a taste of salty
water…With a bit of luck we can run aground on a sandbank.
Or we could sail past the lock of Afsluitdijk (literally:
“Closure Dike”: it is a major dike in the Netherlands,
constructed between 1927 and 1933) to the IJsselmeer and from
there to Makkum, Workum, Stavoren, Enkhuizen or Medemblik
.
